Use a Library Computer
We have computers available for public use on a first come first served basis. A library card is not required for computer use.
We also have free wi-fi available to all patrons.
User Responsibilities – Public Computers
- The privacy of others must be respected.
- Users shall not subject others to sexually explicit or obscene sites.
- Users will be limited to a 30-minute session when there are patrons waiting.
- The library staff may not be able to provide immediate technical assistance, and no guarantee can be made that they will be able to solve the problem.
- Printer charges are .10 for each side of black and white, and $1.00 for color. Oversized paper will be .20 for each side.
- Users are responsible for damages to the equipment or software occurring at the time of their usage.
- Children cannot be left unattended while parent/guardian is using the Internet. The parent/guardian may be asked to leave the computer in order to supervise them.
- Only covered beverages are allowed at the computer workstations.
Wireless Internet Access
- No wireless network is completely secure. Information sent to and from your wireless device may be captured by others with a wireless device and appropriate software.
- The library assumes no responsibility for any damage, theft, alterations, interference or loss of any kind to a user’s equipment, software, data files or other personal property brought into or used at the library’s facilities.
- Library staff may provide limited technical assistance, but no guarantee can be made that you will be able to make a wireless connection. Library staff cannot accept the liability of handling non-library equipment.
- If you are not sure if your wireless device has this functionality, please check with the manufacturer or supplier of your equipment.
- Printing is not available through the wireless access. Users who want to print will need to save to a removable (USB) drive or use a public workstation to print.
The Internet and Minors
- Parents/guardians must supervise children at all times when the minor is using the public computers.
The Addison Township Public Library cannot be responsible for the content of the Internet.
